This was a siding replacement project on a coastal home. The home had vinyl siding, during a storm with +50 MPH it allowed wind driven rain to intrude and damage interior Sheetrock. The vinyl siding was removed, rotting wood was found in the wall cavity and replaced. Hurricane clips and straps were install to be in compliance with currents codes and structural sheathing was installed. To prevent water intrusion in the future a house envelop as installed using TamlynWrap - Drainable Housewrap and flashing tapes. This housewrap allows moisture from wind driven rain or condensation to drain and allows the inner wall to vent preventing mold and mildew. TamlynWrap is also approved for windstorm and has a FL# for windstorms. James Hardie LapSiding was used and intalled in compliance to TDI windstorm requirements.
